SIGNATURE WINES IN MENORCA

Since 2001, we initiated the recovery of the cultivation of the vine in Menorca with the aim of producing quality wines. In less than 10 years we are obtaining wines with scores of 90 points in the most prestigious wine guides. With the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grape varieties, we make the following wines:

  • HORT Cayetana: a rose wine made mainly of sirah which has name and surname.Fruity with character that receives the name of the granddaughter of the property.
  • HORT Merlot: a single varietal red wine aged between 6 and 9 months with a very modern style.
  • HORT Cupatge: a red wine that cabernet sauvignon shows its full potential aged between 9 and 12 months following a more traditional line.

TYPE OF WIN: Rose dry. Vin de pays ‘ Illa de Menorca’ VARIETIES: Merlot. HARVEST: manual in small boxes. ELABORATION: cryomaceration and fermentation at low temperature. LOCATION: in the Centre of the island of Menorca, 100 metres of altitude above sea level. ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13% vol.

FEATURES

VISUAL: Vivid Color shades with cherry red. OLFACTORY: Fresh aromas of jasmine, orange blossom and aromatic herbs (lavender, thyme) with hints of sweet fruits confit are perceived. TASTE: Entrance warm and balanced with good acidity. Intense aftertaste of ripe fruit with a slightly bitter finish that gives it persistence. PAIRING: suitable for rice, pastas and even pizzas. Ideal to accompany Oriental meals, salads and white meat. If taken with traditional Minorcan lobster soup shows its full potential. SERVICE: 8-10 ° C

TASTING NOTES

TYPE OF WINE: Red DENOMINATION: Vin de pays ‘ Illa de Menorca’ VARIETIES: Merlot LOCATION and terrain: 100 m from the sea level. Clayey-calcareous land. HARVEST: manual in small boxes. ELABORATION: Pre-fermentation Cryomaceration process. Maceration and fermentation at controlled temperature for three weeks. AGEING: French and American oak for 6 months. ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14.5% vol.

FEATURES

VISUAL: High intensity, with elegant Garnet hue. OLFACTORY: Good aromatic strength with fresh aromas of undergrowth (lavender, lavender, Sage). As it evolves in Cup appear concentrated aromas of wild black fruit clothed by a background of toasted dried fruit and memories of liquorice. GUSTATIVE: In mouth is fresh, with a balanced acidity. The passage through mouth is long, with sweet and fresh sensations. The texture is velvety, but present tannins. The aftertaste is long and persistent. PAIRING: Indicated to accompany spicy dishes, all kinds of meat, especially white meats, pasta and consistent rices.

TYPE OF WINE: red. Vin de pays ‘ Illa de Menorca’ VARIETIES: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. LOCATION: in the Centre of the island of Menorca, 100 metres of altitude above sea level. HARVEST: manual in small boxes. ELABORATION: Two varieties are produced separately. Pre-fermentation Cryomaceration the merlot variety. Maceration and fermentation at controlled temperature for three weeks. Aged 12 months in oak barrels of French and American origin. Traditional fermentation temperature-controlled for the cabernet variety. ALCOHOL content: 13% vol.

FEATURES

VISUAL: good red layer color with ruby hues. It presents good viscosity and generous tear. OLFACTORY: good aromatic intensity, which include, in the first instance, a fresh mint and spice notes (pepper, clove and aromatic herbs such as chamomile). Tertiary of ageing in oak barrels as cocoa, vanilla and toasted aromas can be seen in the background. GUSTATIVE: entrance clean and fresh. Balanced and compensated with an easy passage through the mouth and a lingering finish. PAIRING: it combines very well seasoned and prepared dishes. All kinds of meats but especially red meat. Pasta, prepared rice and especially cheese with powerful flavor.
